Each day the SALT students have a devotional they are asked to read. Every Wednesday Night, that devotional is due. Typically, there is something for six days a week. (Saturdays and Sundays are combined.)
So... Why A Devotional?
Using a Devotional provides a practical way to systematically break down the deeper topics found in Scripture. As Christians, we are called to live out our lives in a specific way:
We are to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ – 2 Peter 3:18 We are sanctified by the word – John 17:17 We are to rightly divide the word of truth – 2 Tim. 2:15 We are to be ready to give an answer – I Pet. 3:15 We do not live by bread alone – Matt. 4:4 We overcome sin by memorizing scripture – Psalm 119:11
The SALT Method
Each day the student will apply ONE of these choices to the verse they read:
S - Does this passage bring to mind SIN I need to confess? What I am not doing? A - Does this passage point to an ATTITUDE I need to change or improve on? L - How should I LIVE today in light of what I read? T - What can I TELL someone today about God or Jesus?
